Ryegate Magi Moro

(Ryegate Moro Magic x Ryegate Dixie Moro)

1986 full Lippitt bay broodmare

At 26 years young, "Maggie" has had a productive life as a broodmare, and now fills a much-needed role at Holy Moly Farm as a wonderful companion, terrific babysitter, and a remarkably energetic mare under saddle. With the appearance and attitude of a mare many years younger, Maggie brings the classic look of her sire, Ryegate Moro Magic, to our herd. Maggie took 3rd place in the mares 15+ class at the 2007 Lippitt Country Show—not bad for an old girl on her first time in the show ring! As an elder mare, she will live out her life at Holy Moly Farm, looking after our babies and keeping company with Mist.

Holy Moly Meadow Mist

(Ryegate VT Soma Jed x Double Diamond Anniversary)

2003 full Lippitt black-bay broodmare

Mist came to us from Alabama by way of Brook Hill Classic Morgans in March 2007. She had passed through several owners but had not been registered with AMHA until we acquired her, which enabled us to claim her as our first horse registered under the Holy Moly prefix. When she was first brought up from Alabama, she was a bit on the skinny side and flighty from lack of handling, but with daily handling and consistent care at Brook Hill and, later, Holy Moly farms, her personality and confidence have evolved—she's now a loving, sweet-natured, and well-socialized young mare. She blossomed into a beauty and she bears a strong resemblance to her sire, who regrettably is now gelded and won't be producing any more full Lippitt daughters like Mist. Many thanks to Heather Pinet for bringing Mist to us!

Menomin Yankee Delite
(Green Mead's Yankee x Menomin Sweet Delite)
1997 Old Government dark bay mare

'Chevy' came to us from the home where she'd been from the time she was a weanling. Her owners were getting out of horses and placed her in what they thought to be a good home where she'd have company and use, but it fell through. So when we offered to take her in and keep her with our mares, they readily agreed. As an Old Government Morgan, Chevy has a great deal of Lippitt in her background (including some of the rarer Lippitt foundation horses) and her build matches well with our Lippitt stallion. Her sole offspring, now an 9-year-old gelding, was by the Lippitt stallion Randallane Genesis, and one look at him showed us that Chevy, paired with a Lippitt, could produce Morgans that were typey, strong, and incredibly good-looking. It is our hope to produce half-Lippitt foals from Chevy that will show the world why it's a good idea to "put more Justin in your Morgan" by bringing Lippitts into standard Morgan bloodlines.
