Breed Associations

AMHA

CMHA

The American Morgan Horse Association
The Canadian Morgan Horse Association

The American Morgan Horse Association is the primary source of information on Morgan horses in the United States. All of our horses, and any horse that we breed to, is registered with either the AMHA or its Canadian counterpart, CMHA (or both) as a matter of course. We use DNA confirmation to verify each horse as the progeny of the sire and dam named in its pedigree.

There are many excellent Morgans and Lippitt Morgans in Canada registered under the auspices of CMHA, which has similar standards to AMHA. It is important that breeders in the United States make use of the Canadian registry because not all Canadian Morgans are cross registered in both countries.

The Lippitt Club

The Lippitt Club seeks to perpetuate a specific subset of Morgan horses with a close relationship to the founding sire of the breed. For more information about Lippitts, click the link below.

The Lippitt Morgan Breeders Association

Incorporated June 16, 1995, the purpose of this association is to preserve and promote the original Lippitt Morgan horse and to better the conditions of those engaged in the breeding and care of the Lippitt Morgan horse.

Other Breeders' Sites

Brook Hill Classic Morgans

Heather Pinet of BHCM not only sold us two of our first Lippitts (and recommended the third), she has been of invaluable assistance in helping us get started. She handles all her horses with great care, so if you came to this site in hopes of buying a young Lippitt and can't find it here, she's an excellent place to continue your search. Check out her web page via the link above.

Cherry Ledge Farm

Home of the incredible Lippitt stallion Mint Black Jack, whose owner Karen Swanberg appears to be every bit as versatile as her favorite Morgan horse. Check out her web site to see what I mean.

Maine Lee Morgan Horses

Maine Lee Morgans focuses on Old Government bloodlines, which are different from the Lippitt lines we prefer, but they produce some handsome animals and are worth a look if you're a Morgan aficionado. Their stud, Fairlane Goldfield, has a truly beautiful way of moving.

Marana and DM Morgans

Breeders of colorful Morgans with a strong infusion of top-notch Lippitt bloodlines through their mare Brook Hill Special Edition (a Special Occasion daughter) and stallion Nemaha Hill My-T Atticus (a Ryegate Major son).

Randallane Morgans

New home of SSM Bessie Nekomia and breeder of some wonderful horses. They also sponsor the Lippitt Drill Team, too.

Community Links

BUXTON, MAINE

Our home. A nice place to live and raise kids. Lots of horse people here, and a good school system.

Tunbridge, Vermont

Vermont Heritage Days and the Lippitt Country Show, both in Tunbridge VT, are two of the big events for Lippitts in the Northeast. Beautiful location in the hills; we'll go back again and again just for the scenery.

Photo Finish Farm

We get riding lessons and have help in training our young horses at Photo Finish Farm, Buxton ME. Robyn Cuffey is a superb trainer, and her associate Debbie DuBois is a patient instructor for young riders.

AllBreedPedigree.com

A terrific resource for checking out pedigrees and figuring out how a pairing under consideration might pan out.
