Shows and events
It's not about winning ribbons, really—it's about producing high quality
horses. Even so, we take them to shows from time to time, and we do get a kick out of it when they take home a ribbon!
To date, we have shown horses
in two shows: the 2006 and 2007 Lippitt Country Show. In 2006, we only had Stevie, who was still living at Brook Hill Classic
Morgans at the time; he took 2d in the weanling colts class and 3d in the Futurity. This year, he took 1st in the yearling
colts class and 3d in the Futurity, and Maggie brought home a surprise 3d place ribbon in the mares 15+ class.
This year, the demands of health, children, and farm limited us to only one
show again: the 2008 Lippitt Country Show.
We plan to expand our show schedule in 2009 to include Heritage Days, the Maine Morgan Show in Skowhegan,
and other shows as time and energy permit. With Stevie and Ray gaining in experience, and Melissa potentially showing in next
year's yearling classes, it should be an interesting (if hectic) time.
